Draping Designs

$149.00

Out of stock

This class allows students to create a design as a flat panel first. Once the initial work has been fired, we then drape the piece onto a metal base and fire to the temperature that allows the glass to slowly "drape" into the desired shape, creating a beautiful vessel. This project is so much fun because it is hard to imagine the outcome of our work until the final firing. Vessels can then be used for just about anything - as an art piece itself, a flower vase, napkin holder, etc.

NOTE: Class prices are dependent on the volume of materials to be used. Thus, class prices will vary even for the same length of class. All materials for the class are included.

CLASS LENGTH: Two, 2-hour classes (4 hours total)

CLASS DATES: TBD

STUDENT MAX: 10

All participants must sign a waiver to participate in classes. If you work with glass, then getting cut is always a possibility. We'll go over safety measures to limit the likelihood of injury, but each student is responsible for maintaining safe practices and ensuring their own safety by following guidelines. Guidelines will be emailed 30 days prior to class and must be attested and waivers signed AT LEAST 14 DAYS PRIOR TO CLASS. Otherwise, attendance will be cancelled.

REQUIRED ATTIRE: Long pants and closed shoes (e.g., no capris, shorts, sandals, or open shoes of any kind). Fabric for clothing should be cotton or natural fibers (e.g., not polyester or synthetics).
